Like the calm before a storm, the ethereal opening chords of ‘Monus Bonus’ are foreboding and darkly enchanting. They quickly give way to a fully arranged, guitar led production, in which looping melodies and a galloping & energizing drum groove weave together to form a brilliant harmonic latticework. Cinematic in its grandeur, the track builds to a cathartic peak, with its final chord ringing for what pleasantly seems like an eternity.
